To promote the highest architectural standards in the conservation, restoration and repair of existing buildings within the Conservation Area
To preserve and enhance the architectural and historical character of the Historic City Conservation Area
To promote the full utilisation of buildings within the Conservation Area particularly underused or vacant historic floorspace
To promote the sustainable and viable use of buildings which make up the special architectural character of historic urban areas
